CORE is the Coordination of Robotics Education Program. CORE is an education and outreach program of the University of Houston, College of Technology. Organizationally, CORE is part of the College’s Center for Technology Literacy, within the Department of Research.

WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

Saturday September 13, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the University of Houston, College of Technology

See signs in lobby for Rooms.  Park in Lot 16B off Elgin Street or Cullen Street. Walk directly into campus.  College of Technology has red picnic umbrellas outside the door.

EV3 Basic Programming Skills for 1st or 2nd year FLL Team Members   9-12 a.m.  CLASS IS FULL

To attend this class you must:

  • Be on a registered FLL Team this season and be ages 9-14.
  • No more than 2 students from a team may attend this class.
  • Your team must either be a rookie team (1st year) or have 1 year experience (a second year team).  More experienced teams are not eligible.
  • You must bring your EV3 kit with the training bot or a super simple bot already built.
  • You must bring your own laptop with the EV3 software already installed.

Pre-Registration is required.  No walk-ins.  No observers.

The class is limited to  the first 30 registrants, on a first come, first served basis.  No cost.  Good conduct required.

EV3 Workshop Presentation, by Coach David Stolz

 

LEGO Mindstorm NXT Clever Programming and Sensor Ideas 9-12 a.m.

To attend this workshop you must:

  • Be on a registered FLL Team this season and be ages 9-14.
  • No more than 2 students from a team in this class.
  • You must bring your LEGO Mindstorm NXT kit with the training bot or a super simple bot already built.
  • You must bring your own laptop with the NXT software already installed.

Pre-Registration is required.  No walk-ins.  No observers.

The workshop will be conducted with the LEGO Mindstorm NXT Robotics Kit, and is limited to  the first 20 registrants, on a first come, first served basis. No cost.  Good conduct required.

Coaching Workshop 9-12 a.m.  CLASS FULL

Leesa Wolf will lead adults in a workshop to discover how to prepare your team for judging, competitions and other strategies.

To attend this workshop you must:

  • Be the coach, parent, mentor or parent of an FLL Team registered with FLL this season.
  • Coaches may send parents to attend.
  • Workshop designed for Rookie team coaches (1st year) or coaches of teams with only 1 or 2 years experience   Not designed for more experienced coaches.
